Anthony Martial set to miss weekend game

Published 1 Comments

It’s not just Manchester United fans who are sweating over the fitness of teenage sensation Anthony Martial - Wayne Rooney has admitted he is also very concerned. The Red Devils’ skipper has told reporters that he will ring Martial to find out whether or not he’ll be okay for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Watford. Martial suffered an injury while playing for France against England in mid-week and was filmed hobbling away from Wembley on crutches - much to the horror of the Old Trafford faithful. Meanwhile, the Telegraph have revealed that Manchester United and Chelsea now face competition from Barcelona for Everton’s highly-rated centre-back John Stones. Barca scouts were reportedly in Alicante to run the rule over Stones during last week’s international friendly between Spain and England. It’s clear that, in order to beat Barcelona and Chelsea to the 21-year-old’s signature, Ed Woodward will need to act swiftly.
