Vlad Dragomir first made headlines earlier this year, when it was revealed that the Romanian wonderkid had signed a three-year deal with Arsenal from ACS Poli Timisoara.

Fast-forward several months and the 16-year-old has, for the first time, trained with Arsenal’s first-team stars at Colney ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against West Brom.

This is according to multiple reports - including The Sun and the Daily Mail - and perhaps there’s a small chance Arsenal fans will see him in a match, or at least on the subs’ bench, before the end of the season.

Arsenal paid £100,000 for Dragomir’s services - per the Mail - after the left-footed playmaker caught the eye in Romania.

That fee could eventually look a bargain. Scroll down this page to take a look at some of his highlights for Arsenal’s Under-18 side this season - he looks a real gem.

Similarities to Robin van Persie...

Equipped with a brilliant left foot, excellent vision, the ability to pick a pass from deep, decent hold-up play and an eye for goal, Dragomir clearly possesses a huge amount of potential.

Whisper is quietly but there are comparisons with his playing style to that of former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.

Dragomir plays a little deeper than Van Persie, but perhaps Arsene Wenger will also notice the comparisons and encourage him to play a little further forward in the future.

He even tackled Alexis Sanchez!

One interesting point from today’s training session: he was not afraid to put a tackle in on the team’s star man, Alexis Sanchez.

Keep an eye out for this kid. He might become a household name in the not-too-distant future.
