With Christmas just over a month away, families are beginning to get their shopping sorted, and EA Sports' FIFA 16 will be high on many people's wishlists. Well, today, their strange new advert was released.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero travel to Santa Claus' house in the North Pole to take on two reindeer in a game of FIFA.

Unsurprisingly, the Argentine duo came out on top, but as one of the Reindeer point out, their fingers give them a pretty big advantage. Watch the video below.

Both players are sure to be busy during the festive period. Aguero will be occupied by the Premier League's notoriously hectic schedule while the Spanish winter break has been curtailed to ease fixture congestion ahead of Euro 2016.

The Camp Nou outfit also have the small matter of FIFA's Club World Cup - their first match coming on December 17 - before returning to La Liga action two days before the new year.

Having been out of action since a home win against Las Palmas on September 26, Messi made his long-awaited return for the Catalan giants against Real Madrid.

But the Argentine's influence on proceedings was minimal as the Blaugrana were already 3-0 up when he entered the game.

While it was a fantastic weekend for Messi and Barca, it was an equally disastrous time for Aguero and City.

The South American got on the scoresheet but was helpless as Liverpool produced one of the shocks of the season to win 4-1.

FIFA 16 is out now on Xbox One, PS4 and all other platforms. Pick up your copy for Christmas from
