Peyton Manning "incensed" by report claiming he plans to play in 2016

Peyton Manning has always appeared to be a fairly calm and collected kind of guy.

Even when he was tossing up his fourth interception of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs back on November 15, the future Hall of Famer remained relatively unmoved as he headed to the bench.

It appears, though, that the Denver Broncos quarterback has found a reason to lose his cool this week. In fact, according to 9News reporter, Mike Klis, Manning is "incensed."

The issue that is causing the veteran quarterback's frustration? A report yesterday that claimed Manning is planning to play on into the 2016 NFL season - with or without the Broncos.

Reports in the past few days, from ProFootballTalk and NBC respectively, had claimed Manning was intent on continuing his playing career beyond the 2015 campaign, even if that meant leaving the Broncos.

Indeed, the ProFootballTalk report even claimed, per a source, that the 39-year-old had told his current Denver teammates that he planned to play on.

If Kris' report is to be believed, however, either Manning hasn't had any such conversation or he is simply "incensed" that his plans have been leaked.

Considering his torrid 2015 campaign so far - he leads the NFL with 17 interceptions and is currently out with plantar fasciitis and rib injuries - a return in 2016 would surprise a lot of people.

Manning almost retired after 2014, and, the way things have gone this year, he is probably more likely to be regretting that decision than contemplating playing on for one more season.
