Diego Costa and Jose Mourinho were involved in a half-time altercation during Chelsea's Champions League victory last night.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the Blues boss was waving his arms and shouting at the Spain international while the enigmatic Costa reacted by shouting and gesturing at his manager in what proved to be an interesting dispute between the duo.

Despite Chelsea leading Maccabi Tel Aviv by one goal to nil at the interval, Mourinho clearly wasn't happy with his striker's performance.

The west London outfit went on to secure a 4-0 victory on the night and it appears that the aforementioned pair quickly made up.

In fact, the Portuguese tactician insisted that he had a few kisses and cuddles with Costa in the dressing room.

“I’d wanted him to do a certain movement that he didn’t and I was disappointed,” said Mourinho.

“I reacted. He did too. At half-time in the dressing room, a few kisses and a few cuddles. No problem.”

Costa struggles

In truth, Costa has had his problems throughout the course of the season: with just three Premier League goals to his name, the former Atletico Madrid man has endured a tricky start to the campaign at Stamford Bridge.

You can hardly blame Mourinho for growing frustrated with his leading striker. A lack of movement isn't the player's only problem right now. He appears to be disillusioned with life at Chelsea at a time when his manager needs him most.

With Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao not at the required level, Mourinho could do with getting Costa back on side sooner rather than later.
