Patrice Evra will always occupy a special place in the hearts of Manchester United fans - and moments like tonight show exactly why he remains a firm favourite amongst the Old Trafford faithful.

Prior to this evening’s Champions League clash between Juventus and Manchester City, Evra - on the bench for the home side - conducted an interview with BT Sport.

But before finishing his interview, Evra smiled and said: “And I am a red forever”. (Scroll down this page to see the video).

Needless to say, the four-second clip has delighted Manchester United fans on Twitter.

Evra might be plying his trade for Juventus these days but he will always have a soft spot for the Red Devils after spending eight successful years with the Premier League giants.

Evra misses Manchester United

Last month, the France international told Manchester United fans - via journalist Andy Mitten - that he misses them.

While he also revealed just how difficult a decision it was to leave United at the end of the 2013-14 campaign, describing it as “heartbreaking”.

Evra looked set to spend one final season with the Red Devils after signing a one-year contract extension but decided it was in his best interests to join Juventus instead.

Juventus move worked out for Evra

Perhaps his decision was influenced by the fact Manchester United had decided to spend big money on left-back Luke Shaw, but it turned out to be a decent career move for the Frenchman.

Evra won the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia in his debut campaign in Italy. He also reached the Champions League final, but was denied the opportunity to win a hat-trick of medals by Barcelona.
