Chelsea step up interest in Harry Kane due to Diego Costa concerns

If you’ve read news concerning Diego Costa’s spat with Jose Mourinho during the win over Maccabi Tel Aviv you’ll hardly be ready to hit the panic button. It seemed more handbags than anything. However, that doesn’t mean Chelsea aren’t pondering over the Spain international’s long-term future at the club, with reports saying their interest in Tottenham’s Harry Kane is growing. The Guardian claim they will use this weekend’s fixture as a convenient scouting trip - Yes, convenient indeed. Sticking with the same subject, other speculation insists Mourinho will look for a short-term fix this January. Former Arsenal strikers Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor are the men linked with such an option. This is coming from the Guardian again, but we have to cast out doubts on that one.
