Tyson Fury is ready to beat odds of "seven billion to one" by snatching the world heavyweight title from Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury faces Klitschko for the Ukrainian veteran's WBA, WBO and IBF titles in Dusseldorf on Saturday and the 27-year-old insists he will succeed where 19 previous challengers failed.
It is a tall order for the 6ft 9ins Mancunian but he believes he is just one win away from achieving his destiny.
"This is finally the start of championship boxing for me," he told Press Association Sport.
"I'm so happy and privileged to be involved in this and God has blessed me to put me in this position, to be fighting for the world heavyweight championship, as the mandatory challenger.
"From a young age, when I started boxing, I believed I would become world champion. I believed it all the way through and against odds of seven billion to one, I've made it.
"If I can make it then I'm living proof to anybody who thinks they can't do something in life that if you want it badly enough, and stick with it and be dedicated, then you can make it in life.
"All being well on Saturday it's definitely going to be the icing on the cake for this stage of my career and then we will move onto another level."
Fury has been somewhat contradictory in the build-up to the fight, stating the bout will be an easy win for him but also heaping praise on the 39-year-old champion.
"I've got a lot of respect for the man," he said. "He's done a lot in boxing and he's been at the highest level for a long time and has made so many successful title defences.
"He's achieved a lot and he's done something I haven't - he's won a world title and defended it. He can hold onto that glory train but as long as I come out of it being the driver and the captain then it's a different story."
Fury believes his height, age and unique fighting style are key to victory.
"The difference between me and the previous challengers Klitschko has beaten in a row is that none of them were like me. They were pretty much all 6ft 1ins, 6ft 2ins heavyweights just coming forward looking to land power shots. They were average heavyweights.
"Klitschko has never fought anyone like me; a 6ft 9ins switch-hitter who is as unorthodox as two left feet on a clown facing backwards."News Now - Sport News
