This is according to Spanish newspaper Marca, who claim Real Madrid want a left-sided full-back who isn’t cup-tied in the Champions League as an alternative for Marcelo.
The Brazilian has struggled with a variety of injuries in recent seasons and was rushed back for the Clasico, two weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately for Real Madrid, Marcelo lasted an hour against Barça before he was taken off when his hamstring went again.

Marca understand that Rafael Benitez rejected Real Madrid’s offer to sign a specialist back-up left-back in the summer. Reports from Spain at the beginning of September claimed the Spanish boss was, in fact, offered the chance to sign Moreno by Liverpool.
That was around the time when Moreno was out-of-favour at Anfield following the signing of Joe Gomez from Charlton Athletic.
Moreno is important for Liverpool
However, Moreno has re-established himself as Liverpool’s first-choice left-back since Gomez was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a serious knee injury last month.
Jurgen Klopp clearly rates the Spaniard, who initially rose to prominence with Sevilla in La Liga, as a better left-back than Brendan Rodgers did - even though it was the Northern Irish coach, along with the club’s transfer committee, who brought the 23-year-old to Merseyside.
Moreno would be a star at Real Madrid
Moreno is superb going forwards but the defensive side of his game still needs fine-tuning.
However, at a club like Real Madrid where the full-backs spend most of the game in the opposition half of the pitch, Moreno could flourish into one of the world’s best left-backs.
