Pep Guardiola is a manager in high demand. The Bayern Munich boss' contract in Bavaria expires in the summer and, if reports are to be believed,  Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and City are interested.

Well, according to the Telegraph, the Spaniard has singled out one club as his preferred Premier League move, and it's good news for Red Devils fans.

The report suggests Guardiola wants to take the hot seat at Old Trafford, but they could be forced to part company with Louis van Gaal to tie down the two-time Champions League winner.

Van Gaal's contract expires in the summer of 2017 and the Dutchman is set to retire following his stint at the Theatre of Dreams.

Many Manchester United fans are unhappy with Van Gaal's tactics and despite sitting third in the table the manager is under pressure. Cutting short his tenure at Old Trafford would seem pretty harsh but nothing is certain in the modern footballing world.

The Red Devils would have to part with £7 million if they wanted Van Gaal out, but a new deal for Guardiola in Munich could suit both parties perfectly.

The German giants want his future sorted during the winter break and are keen to tie the former Barcelona man down to a two-year extension.

But a contract until the end of the 2016-17 season would leave the door open for an immediate move to the Premier League.

Van Gaal's deal expires and, if Arsene Wenger's talk of leaving a 'legacy' is indeed a hint he will end his Arsenal career, the Emirates job will also be available.

Of course, this is all speculation and Guardiola is notoriously coy over his future, but a move to Premier League is looking more likely by the day.
