Football News

Last night, Kobe Bryant revealed that the 2015/16 season would be his last as an NBA player.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend is bowing out after twenty seasons in the league, a career that has included so many awards, accolades and records that it is difficult to keep up.

As you can imagine, Kobe has received so many plaudits ranging from NBA stars and legends like LeBron and Kareem Abdul-Jabar to soccer icon David Beckham. The best tribute, however, has come from Hassan Whiteside.

The Miami Heat center went onto Instagram to reflect on the career of Kobe, but didn't exactly do it in the way that everyone else has. Instead of honoring Bryant, Whiteside pretty much paid tribute to himself.

"After seeing that this is a legends last year playing the game ..I just want to say thanks Kobe for everything you done for basketball and I'm glad I got to put a huge smile on your face #kobe #legend"

And here is the picture that Whiteside put alongside the post, with the big man dunking and Bryant looking on.

The Lakers next play host to the Heat in March, we'll see if the Black Mamba can get his revenge then.
