Liverpool fans, good day and welcome.

We may be in the midst of winter, but the gravy train never stops when it comes to the latest news and information in the world of football.

We’ve collated the best topics on offer today for you to peruse and debate. Watch the video above or read on below for more.

Gerrard returns

Steven Gerrard is back. No, not for good, and no, he won’t be playing for Liverpool any time soon, but all the same he’s posted a message to Instagram following his first training session back with the club.

The ex-Anfield skipper will spend time with Jurgen Klopp’s side during the MLS off-season, with it hoped he can inspire the Reds to continue their recent run of form.

Gerrard posted a picture to say he had enjoyed joining in with the lads yesterday. Here’s to hoping he has a positive effect.

Ian Rush on striking partnership

Meanwhile, Merseyside hero Ian Rush has revealed he thinks Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke could create a formidable partnership up front for Klopp moving forward.

The former star striker said he didn’t believe the myth that they couldn’t play together - have your say on that in the comments box below.

U21 action

Last, but not least, Liverpool’s U21s were in action last night against Manchester United in a game that turned out to be quite the humdinger.

The fixture itself finished 3-2 to United - largely thanks to the presence of Belgium star Marouane Fellaini - but the young Reds rallied late on to ensure their dignity was kept intact.
