Speaking to the assembled media ahead of Liverpool's Capital One Cup game with Southampton on Wednesday night, Klopp was once again on top form.

Facing questions about the goalkeeping situation at Anfield, Klopp's answer obviously caused excitement among the journalists.

The German did not miss that point and calmly advised them all to 'cool down', something that drew a big laugh from the press.

There has been much speculation that Klopp is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper. Mignolet has been looked upon as the weak link in Liverpool's team for some time. However, the German was full of praise for his first-choice stopper.

"I have had a lot of goalkeepers in the last few years and he is one of the smartest I've ever had.

"He is completely open. He's young enough to develop, to improve. He had not the most easy situation before I came here but since I am here there is nothing to criticise, absolutely nothing," he said, as per the BBC.
