When Raw finished on Monday night, some fans were moderately happy that it was an improvement on last week's show. However, one key fan favorite was absent from the event which made a lot of fans unhappy.

As you may have noticed yourself, WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens didn't appear on the show this week and the reason why has been revealed. It was due to an illness.

According to Wrestling Inc: "Owens was sent home on Monday after he and his son, who was traveling with him this week, came down with an illness." Reading through the spoiler pages as well, he didn't appear on SmackDown either.

At this current moment of time, however, the Canadian is still expected to put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dean Ambrose at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view in just a little over a week's time on December 13.

Hopefully, the illness isn't too bad and Owens makes a speedy recovery, but you have to wonder what it might be because many superstars have worked in the past with sickness, so it could be severe.

A clear fan favorite, Owens is one of the most promising stars in the WWE and one of the best talents the company has to offer. If he works at TLC, his match against Ambrose could steal the show in spectacular fashion.

It's evidently clear the WWE are preparing the Canadian eventually for a push as one of the top heels in the company, and he may even get one of his dream matches at WrestleMania next year against Brock Lesnar for his efforts.

Having only made his debut in the WWE close to a year ago, this is an incredible achievement in such a short period of time, and it shows how much faith the company has with him.
