Manchester United are becoming determined to win the battle to sign high-flying Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Before you gun us down for perceived deception, this claim comes from the Daily Mirror, who say that Louis van Gaal is an admirer of the Gabon international and imply that he could be seen as a long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney. £42million is the cost put up against Aubameyang's name. We’re going to place that in the dubious transfer rumour pile, but in football you never really know. Elsewhere, one man who certainly won’t be moving is Neymar. The Barcelona star was tentatively named in connection with a United move, but his father has claimed he will sign a new deal at the Camp Nou soon. Surprised? Neither are we.
