Football News

Arsenal fans are struggling to come to terms with reports that Santi Cazorla will miss at least three months of the season.

As reported by The Guardian, the classy playmaker suffered a knee ligament injury during the Gunners' 1-1 draw against Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday and may not feature again until March.

In fact, the report claims that the club are worried that the dynamic midfielder could be out for even longer. It's yet another blow for Arsene Wenger, who has watched so many of his first-team players succumb to injury recently.

As well as Cazorla, Mikel Arteta, Francis Coquelin, Kieran Gibbs, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere are all on the sidelines while talisman Alexis Sanchez and key defender Laurent Koscielny also picked up injuries last weekend.

Unsurprisingly, with the north London outfit seemingly in contention to secure the Premier League title, fans of the club have been left somewhat crushed by this latest injury setback.

Same old story

For Arsenal fans, it really is the same old story. Time-and-time again over the years, the club's supporters have watched star names miss significant spells of the season through injury.

Will it cost Wenger's side? Well, with the club already behind the two Manchester teams, it's going to be a testing period for Arsenal.

With huge fixtures in Europe and the Premier League on the horizon, Arsenal certainly can't afford to rest on their laurels. Over the course of this month, they are set to take on Olympiakos and Manchester City in two important games. Arsenal are down to their bare bones, but they must secure the required results over the festive period.
