Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has insisted that only Sergio Aguero is better than Daniel Sturridge when at full fitness.
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of tonight's Capital One Cup clash between Liverpool and Southampton, Redknapp has suggested that Sturridge is a big loss for the Reds when unavailable for selection.
Sturridge is set to lead Liverpool's attack for the first time under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp this evening, and Redknapp certainly believes his former side are a better team with the forward at their disposal.

Redknapp stated: "I think he's a very special talent. I will say that, when he is fit, only Aguero in the Premier League is better. That's how highly rate him. The problem is, can you get him on the pitch enough?
"He's missed half the games since he's been at Liverpool. It's a big loss when he doesn't play. They score more goals; they get more points when he's on the pitch."
In truth, it has been a torrid couple of years for Sturridge, who just hasn't been able to maintain his fitness. After firing 21 goals in 29 league appearances in the 2013/14 season, the striker has only managed to feature in 16 league games since.
As soon as Sturridge returns to action, he seems to pick up another injury, so it's crucial that he manages to prove his credentials over the coming weeks and months.
Jurgen Klopp must handle Sturridge correctly as the striker could yet have a huge role to play in helping the Reds climb the table. The former Borussia Dortmund boss has a number of fine attacking options at his disposal, but he will be well aware that Sturridge has the attributes to act as a game changer on Merseyside.
The club's faithful will certainly be hoping to see the dynamic forward strut his stuff at the St Mary's this evening.
