Football News

Manchester United fans, a very good day to you all.

The general buzz is getting louder as we approach the January transfer window, but we’re still far away enough at the moment not to be drowned out by it all.

With that in mind, we’ve got a nice blend of rumours and genuine information. Don’t believe us? Read on, or watch the video above, for more.

Cavani link

With Manchester United seemingly lacking firepower up front, it was only a matter of time before Edinson Cavani’s name was thrown into the transfer mix.

Only yesterday did certain reports link Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Old Trafford, but French newspaper L’Equipe - as relayed by the Daily Telegraph - are now making suggestions concerning Cavani.

It’s said PSG won’t sell him to United unless they find a top-class replacement. Presumably, if they do, Louis van Gaal will have a chance to land the Uruguayan.

It’s mostly loose speculation at the moment, though.

They could certainly do with Cavani's goals:

Sir Alex backs Neville

Next up, Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Gary Neville to succeed after taking the vacant manager’s post at Valencia.

Neville reportedly turned down a lucrative deal from Sky Sports to move to Spain - Fergie thinks he could become a Mestalla Messiah in due course.

Van Gaal slammed by fans

Last, but not least, certain United fans took to Twitter last night to slam Louis van Gaal in the wake of Jurgen Klopp’s impressive start to life as Liverpool manager.

Klopp’s side dismantled Southampton 6-1 in the League Cup to continue their great run of form, and it appears to have affected United supporters who aren’t fully behind Van Gaal.
