Manchester United duo Juan Mata and Ander Herrera have a great bond both on and off the pitch - and the Spaniards have shown off their impressive skills in a new YouTube video.

Taking on the ‘two balls challenge’ - where the players have to keep two footballs in the air while exchanging them between each other as many times as possible - Mata and Herrera showcase their skills on a 3G pitch in Manchester.

Their first attempt sees them successfully exchange passes four times - before a surprisingly poor piece of control from Herrera lets them down - but it gets better after that and you can see the entire two-minute video by scrolling down this page.

Mata and Herrera have both shown glimpses of their quality this season, but Louis van Gaal has struggled to get the absolute best out of the Spanish duo so far.

Mata demonstrated during his time at Chelsea that he’s a player capable of providing double figures in terms of both goals and assists; however, he hasn’t been hugely effective this season.

Mata and Herrera are capable of so much more

Four goals and three assists in the league is an average return for a player of Mata’s quality - although Van Gaal must shoulder a large share of the blame for failing to get the best out of the £37.1 million Spain international.

Similarly, Herrera has only scored two goals and registered two assists in the league so far this term - although he has played fewer than half the minutes Mata has.
