It appears, though, that Liverpool are currently lead the race for the dynamic midfielder, with the same report claiming that representatives of the club talked with the youngster after he scored in Red Star’s 7-2 victory over Cukaricki on Sunday.
In fact, when asked about a potential move to Liverpool, the talented youngster stated: “I’ll try to respect the club, the fans and the general public, but again I think that for myself I have to choose the best environment where I get the chance to play and where I work with good coaches in good conditions.
“It is certain that I remain here until the end of qualifying for the Champions League. I had a talk with Liverpool but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m still a Red Star player.”
With the Liverpool Echo claiming that Grujic could cost the club as much as £5 million, Klopp will certainly be hoping that the teenager proves good value for money.
At 19, it's unlikely that Grujic would become a regular name on the teamsheet at Anfield in the immediate future, but the talented teenager certainly has the attributes to blossom in England.
Both a creator and scorer of goals, Grujic has a great deal of pace and natural ability, so could prove an exciting coup for the club. Perhaps Klopp will make him his first Liverpool signing.
