Flash back to the start of Jurgen Klopp's reign at Liverpool. The German arrived on Merseyside to  a squad devoid of confidence and a number players who were deemed not good enough by fans.

One of those men would have been Dejan Lovren who, following a £20 million move from Southampton in the summer of 2014, had failed to live up to expectations.

A poor debut season and a slow start to this campaign, that saw him lose his starting spot to Mamadou Sakho, appeared to suggest his time at Anfield was coming to an end.
