Which superstars need to impress at WWE's TLC?

The final pay-per-view takes place this Sunday where Roman Reigns challenges Sheamus for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at TLC.

Seven matches have been announced for the event, and four of them will have stipulations, ranging from a TLC match to a chairs match.

The WWE has come under scrutiny over the past few weeks as fans aren’t happy with the product, and the ratings have reflected this. This means the pressure will be on the WWE to go out there and put on a fantastic show.

It won’t be easy as some top stars such as Seth Rollins and John Cena are not involved which means there’s added pressure on a handful of stars competing at the event.

Here are the stars I think need to impress at TLC and ensure they give it their all on Sunday.

This one is quite obvious as Roman Reigns always has pressure on him heading into big events, even more so when he’s competing for the top prize in the WWE when a lot of people think he doesn’t deserve it.

Regardless of feelings towards him, Reigns does need to make sure he puts on a good show so that he can prove his doubters wrong and show that he can compete at the top level. He has an advantage here as he can use weapons to make the match more brutal so he won’t be criticised for his lack of technical ability, on Sunday at least.

The WWE are lacking true main events and even though Reigns might not be ready; the WWE are serious about investing in him 100%, and that’s something the fans need to learn to get used to. If he can put on a great show against Sheamus – even if it’s a losing effort – it will be a step in the right direction.

The Lucha Dragons are finally receiving a tremendous opportunity at a pay-per-view when they take on The Usos and the New Day for the WWE Tag Team Championships in a triple threat tag team ladder match.

It’s obvious the New Day will be the star attraction heading into this match, but we shouldn’t rule out The Usos or The Lucha Dragons as they should be allowed the freedom to do some cool spots using the ladders. However, I do think the team that needs to impress the most in this situation are Sin Cara and Kalisto.

This will be a big test for them to see how good they can be in the title picture and whether or not they’ll be able to hang with the most proven teams in the division in the future. Kalisto could have a big future so it will be important for him to shine in this match and create an even greater fan base.

I don’t think the Intercontinental Championship match between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose will be a poor match; I do think the WWE should have added a stipulation to this as neither man is afraid to put their body on the line and this event would be perfect for the two of them.

I believe Ambrose needs to impress more than Owens does at TLC, only because Ambrose has been floating around from feud to feud for a while now and right now he’s not doing anything relevant. In fact, you wouldn’t be blamed for forgetting Ambrose is even challenging Owens because the build-up hasn’t been fantastic or something we’d expect.

Ambrose needs to be more relevant than he is and a poor individual performance from him will not do him any favours whatsoever. An impressive performance would be vital as he should be able to move upwards from there if he’s booked correctly.

I think the superstars with the most pressure on their shoulders are The Wyatt Family, they’ve suffered countless key losses and are in danger of becoming basic novelty acts who offer very little despite the fact they’re very talented.

They not only need to impress against Team EVW Originals, but they need a win more than anything. A victory over some big names will be good form to bounce back and move on to better things because they’ve been wasted for over a year now. Sure, Bray Wyatt has been in some big feuds but the fact that he and his family continue to lose just means they’re lost in the pack.

An impressive performance means fans may start to take them a little more seriously once more, and they can rebuild themselves heading into the New Year. If they lose then, it will be a sour note to a tough year for them all, and it will take a hell of a lot of effort to prove to the fans they can hang at the top.
