Chelsea's struggles this season have been down to a number of different factors. But put simply, they have failed to recreate their form of last season.

From front to back, the Blues have been below par and currently sit 14th in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone.

Diego Costa has managed just three goals in 12 games and the west London club have found the net just 17 times in 15 matches this season.

But one player who can't stop scoring is former Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is in inspired form for Everton this season and had scored 14 goals in 19 appearances for the Toffees before their tie with Norwich City on Saturday.

It took Lukaku just 15 minutes to break the deadlock at Carrow Road with a well-timed header from a Gerard Deulofeu cross, and it means the 22-year-old has now scored in seven successive games in all competitions.

The former West Bromwich Albion loanee has been considered one of the most dangerous strikers in the league since his spell at the Hawthorns and has now scored 54 Premier League goals in three-and-a-half seasons.

His form this campaign has led many Chelsea fans to question why Jose Mourinho decided to sell him, especially given the form of Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.

Here is some of the reaction on social media.

Mourinho decided to sell Lukaku for £28 million in the summer of 2014 and opted to re-sign legendary forward Didier Drogba alongside Costa.

His addition was a short term fix as the Blues stormed to the title, but, given Lukaku is still only 22, it begs the question, why wasn't he given more time at Stamford Bridge?
