Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game and it appears that he's also a practical joker.

During a training session with Barcelona, Spain international Gerard Pique was attempting to put his bib on while facing away from Messi.

Ultimately, with the ball at his feet, the Argentine superstar opted to hit his teammate on the back of the head with a delightful chip.

Unsurprisingly, Messi hit his target and appeared to take great pleasure in doing so as, alongside Uruguayan international Luis Suarez, he let out a faint smile.

The best thing about the video, however, is that Pique failed to realise that he had been on the end of the comical moment. All hail Messi...

Serious business

It may well be fun and games on the training ground, but Barcelona may well make history this season. Luis Enrique's side are truly a force to be reckoned with and they really could secure even more success over the coming months.

Last season, of course, the Catalans secured the treble, and they may well fancy their chances of emulating that feat once again. Currently sitting at the top of La Liga, Messi and Co. hold a two-point advantage over Atletico Madrid.

With Real Madrid banned from the Copa del Rey, they will also fancy their chances of lifting that prize, while they could become the first team to win back-to-back Champions League trophies. They can even secure the Club World Cup in 2016.

Can Barcelona win another treble this season? Have your say below!
