Just what has happened to Chelsea this season? The defending Premier League dropped more points on Monday evening as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.

The Foxes - the surprise package of the season - went back to the summit of the table with the win thanks to goals from the dynamic duo of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

A second half Loic Remy header gave Jose Mourinho's men a glimmer of hope but they were unable to get the vital equaliser as they fell to their ninth defeat in 16 games.

And one player, in particular, was mercilessly trolled on Twitter, and not for the first time this season.

Branislav Ivanovic, arguably one of the best defenders last season as Chelsea stormed to the title, had a night to forget at the King Power stadium.

The Serbian was given the runaround by Marc Albrighton for 90 minutes as the former Aston Villa man turned him inside out time, and time, again.

Not only did he fail to tie down the 26-year-old, he also spurned a fantastic chance to drag the Blues back into the game at 2-0.

Unmarked at the back post, the 31-year-old only had to get a meaningful touch on the ball to guide into the empty net.

However, the ball spun off the heel of his foot and away from goal. It's fair to say, Chelsea fans were not too impressed.

The result means the Stamford Bridge outfit are 16th place in the table. How the mighty have fallen.

Was this result the final nail in the coffin for Jose Mourinho? Was Branislav Ivanovic the worst player on the pitch? Leave your comments below
