TLC is now over and done with and while the fallout brought us a personal appearance by Vince McMahon himself, there may be another big return to look forward to.

It has been reported for several weeks now that Lesnar is set to return in December with the Slammy awards seen as a possible return date.

With his return coming ahead of the Royal Rumble, the WWE are expected to have some big plans for him for the run up to WrestleMania.

While some have theorised that the Rock, Roman Reigns and even Stone Cold Steve Austin could all be possible WrestleMania opponents for Lesnar, the truth may be completely different.

Rumours have now emerged that on his return to the WWE, Lesnar will target the United States Championship and the current champion, Alberto Del Rio.

Del Rio is currently a member of the newly formed faction the League of Nations and if he were to become a target of Lesnars, that could be an explosive combination.

The Beast returning and targeting the US Title is certainly an outcome that no-one could have ever anticipated but it would serve a purpose that the WWE have seemingly dedicated 2015 to.

All time high?

The credibility of the US Championship was at an all time low prior to this year's WrestleMania where John Cena became the new champion.

In the ensuing months, he elevated the prestige of the belt with it even being used in a champion vs champion match against Seth Rollins at Summer Slam.

Cena lost the title to Del Rio at Hell in a Cell and if the title was to be put on Lesnar, its credibility could arguably not get any higher.
