Why WWE need to look at NXT for ideas sooner rather than later

When it comes to the decisions made by WWE's current creative team, it has become all too easy for the WWE Universe to heavily criticize a number of areas.

For the problems regarding matches and story lines on the main roster to be solved, however, the solutions could well be a lot closer to home than first thought.

NXT is WWE's developmental brand and has provided the platform for current top-name superstars such as Seth Rollins, Charlotte and Kevin Owens to prove their worth and be called up to the biggest roster in professional wrestling.

Better brand

This hugely-popular branch of WWE is currently somewhat showing up those in charge of creative story lines and fresh ideas for the leading WWE superstars.

There have been so many WWE wrestlers who have had the potential throughout 2015 to be pushed into a leading story line, but have never been given the opportunity due to poor booking.

For NXT, however, fans are treated to a huge variety of exciting matches and attention-grabbing story lines, week-in, week-out.

Triple H and his colleagues at NXT clearly support the idea of making every wrestler under their wing equal, with both men's and women's singles matches, as well as several tag-team matches, being on display during near enough every show.

As if NXT has not already proved its success enough, the roster is currently carrying out a hugely-popular UK tour, which includes a WWE Network special; NXT: Takeover London.

It only takes one look at any specific division of NXT to see why the brand has got so many aspects of professional wresting right.

Fair treatment

Its women's division consists of a number of incredibly talented athletes who receive a deserved spot on its weekly programming, as well as being involved in a number of entertaining feuds.

This, in turn, means that followers of NXT tune in just to see the likes of Asuka, current NXT Women's champion Bayley and Nia Jax alone, purely because of the way the company has enabled them to showcase their abilities.

As for its tag-team division, NXT is currently receiving a significant amount of praise for two of its stars in Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, whose gimmick has gained an incredible reaction during the brand's UK tour.

Add to this the likes of NXT Champion Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and the recently-returned Sami Zayn and it is clear to see there are several good reasons for NXT's large fan base.

Ultimately, the success of NXT, particularly throughout this year, has simply overshadowed what has been a mediocre time for the main roster of WWE.

As Triple H and his team continue to get it so right with NXT, it is right to ask just what has gone so wrong with the company's leading creative team.

On a more positive note, members of the WWE Universe can look forward to the idea of several wrestlers on the NXT roster being called up to be part of the company's main programming sometime in the near future.
