After another few days of turmoil for Chelsea, things only appear to be getting worse for the Stamford Bridge club.

It has been a disastrous start to the season and it appears that players aren't united and are unhappy with manager Jose Mourinho.

In fact, The Sun claim that stars of the club are angry with enigmatic striker Diego Costa. The Spain international has endured a torrid campaign, failing to produce the goods in west London.

With just three Premier League goals all season, the former Atletico Madrid man has been involved in a number of controversial issues recently.

And the same report from The Sun claim players are bemused that Costa got away with chucking his bib in the direction of Mourinho during the club's 0-0 draw with Tottenham. It has also been suggested that they weren't happy when he took it upon himself to make a sleeping gesture towards the Chelsea defence after Jamie Vardy netted the opening goal of the game during Monday night's defeat against Leicester City.

Costa nightmare

It really has been a nightmare period for Costa; for one reason or another, the forward has been far too busy fighting with his opponents rather than scoring goals.

Last season, as Chelsea cruised to the Premier League title, Costa was outstanding. A warrior on the field, the forward gave his all for his teammates, but it has been a completely different story recently.

At 27-years-old, Costa should be approaching the peak of his career, but his desire at Stamford Bridge appears to be fading and it wouldn't come as a surprise if he departed the club sooner rather than later.
