Thiago Alcantara confirms De Gea tried to get him to sign for Manchester United

Published 5 Comments

Without doubt one of David Moyes’ most unfortunate failures at Manchester United was being unable to capture Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara. The Bayern Munich man has now confirmed Moyes wasn’t the only United man trying to tempt him to leave Barcelona for English shores though, with David de Gea having had a crack himself. Alcantara said De Gea had wrote on a match-ball after the European Championship U21 final, with a message that read ‘see you in Manchester’. He did also confirm that there was never any firm proposal and that his decision was always going to be Bayern. Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen star Javier Hernandez has confirmed he left United because Van Gaal had told him he had a 1% chance of getting back in the team. The Mexican revealed that he’s now confident because he can start every game - he certainly wasn’t getting that at Old Trafford. Think Van Gaal was wrong to sell him?
