The latest reports suggest that the Reds have outlined a proposal of £4.3m plus the offer of the player staying with Red Star Belgrade until the end of the season.

Sakho the Scouser

Meanwhile, Mamadou Sakho has further warmed himself to fans by declaring himself a Scouser.

Alonso screamer

Lastly, former Reds star Xabi Alonso produced what will surely be considered one of the goals of the season last night, hammering home a half-volley for Bayern Munich to leave fans with tingles down their spines.

'Not Liverpool news,' you say? 'Fair enough', we respond. All the same, there are few football fans out there who won’t want to see this strike a few times.
