Football News

Back in October, it was reported that Memphis Depay and Robin van Persie had been involved in a training ground bust-up while on international duty with the Netherlands.

Journalist Elko Born previously revealed that the duo had confronted each other during a training session, but he failed to give a full insight to the story.

At the time, details of the row failed to emerge and football fans were all left questioning what really happened. But there has now been a development in the saga.

Voetbal Primeur claim that Van Persie asked Depay whether he thought he was a 'big boy', to which the youngster responded by saying: 'Do big boys play for Fenerbahce?'

It has been suggested that manager Danny Blind made a comment to Van Persie, stating 'You again?'

It's far from certain as to whether the duo have completely resolved their issues or whether a grudge remains.

Depay struggles

Manchester United fans will just be hoping to see Depay come to prominence in the Premier League sooner rather than later. The versatile forward is extremely talented, of course, but he still has so much to learn.

He's in wonderful shape but still doesn't appear to be at the required fitness level to play week in, week out in England's elite division. Naturally, it was always going to take some time for him to adjust to the pace of the game in the Premier League, but when will he adapt?

Both a creator and scorer of goals, Depay has so much to give and United fans will be hoping to see him prove his credentials in the second-half of the season.

What do you make of the row between Depay and Van Persie? Have your say below!
