Cristiano Ronaldo is not a man short on cash. The Real Madrid superstar is one of the richest sportsmen in the world and recently invested in a private jet for a whopping £13.5 million.
But the Portuguese is not all about pleasure. The 30-year-old announced at a press conference in Lisbon on Thursday that he was venturing into a multi-million pound deal with Pestana Hotel Group, who are natives of his homeland, Madeira.
The deal sees the Madrid star invest £45 million in hotels bearing his 'CR7' label in Portugal, Madrid and New York.

The 'CR7' brand has already spawned a fashion line while Ronaldo has also lent his image to many other brands.
The former Manchester United man is ranked third in Forbes list of the world's top paid sports stars and earned $76.6 million last year.
As per Sky Sports, Ronaldo told the assembled media: "My job is to play football, but life won't always be like this.
"I'm thinking about my future, and my son and my family."
"I have to dedicate myself to this new project and I have the best team in the world around me.
"I am young but I feel very fulfilled so this project is exciting for me. I'm thinking about my future, and my son and my family."
Ronaldo's future has been a cause of much debate as his contract with Madrid approaches a pivotal moment.
The current World Player of the Year's deal with Los Blancos expires in 2018 and the approaching summer window may be the Bernabeu's last chance to recoup some of the £80 million they paid Manchester United in 2009.
He recently purchased a luxury apartment for $18.5 million in Trump Towers, overlooking Central Park in New York.
However, as of yet, his immediate future still remains unclear.
