As Liverpool prepared for today's showdown against Watford at Vicarage Road, injured goalkeeper Simon Mignolet took to Instagram to wish his side luck.

Mignolet, of course, is out of action after picking up a hamstring problem, but opted to express his feelings ahead of the game.

Moments later, his replacement for the day Adam Bogdan dropped an absolute clanger to give Watford the lead.

That's right, just two minutes into proceedings, Bogan failed to deal with a relatively straight forward corner as he dropped the ball into the path of Nathan Ake, who slotted him from a couple of yards out.

Mignolet may well be competing with Bogdan for the No.1 position on Merseyside, but he must have felt sorry for his counterpart on this occasion.

Much like Bogdan, Mignolet has had his problems at Liverpool, but fans will no doubt be hoping that he makes a speedy recovery after watching his replacement in action.

January signing?

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has previously dismissed the idea that he could sign a new 'keeper in the January transfer window, but the majority of the club's faithful may well differ with their views.

Ultimately, the likes of Mignolet and Bogdan aren't at the same level as the elite goalkeepers in the Premier League, so perhaps Klopp really should act sooner rather than later.
