Top 3: Best performers in the Premier League so far this season

Football News

Christmas is finally here and now is the perfect time to reflect on what the Premier League season has produced so far.

Here we’ll have a shot at picking the top three performers - safe to say it’s no easy task. We’ve included an honorary mentions category at the end for those who missed out.

Think you’ve got a better top three? Let us know in the comments box below, while you can check out the video here:

Mesut Ozil, Arsenal

The German maestro finally appears to have settled into his rhythm in the English game and is on course to break the Premier League assist record this season.

That’s right, Mesut Ozil’s form this season has been nothing short of breathtaking, and Arsenal's league position is largely down to him.

More goals would be the icing on the cake, but we’ll take nothing away from him this time around.

Jamie Vardy, Leicester

Turns out that the Premier League has been chatting **** and has subsequently been getting banged.

Of course we're talking about the record-breaking, former non-league striker Jamie Vardy. Goals win games and he’s had them in abundance so far this term. 15, to be exact.

He might well stall moving forward but so far he’s been an absolute pleasure to watch. Hats off to him for spearheading Leicester City’s drive to the top.

Riyad Mahrez, Leicester

No, do not adjust your screens, another Leicester player has made the list.

Mahrez has been unstoppable both scoring and creating chances, complementing Vardy’s form and giving The Foxes that unexpected bite in the final third. So far he's contributed 13 league goals and 7 assists to Leicester's surprise title charge.

On stats alone it’s difficult to begrudge him our top spot.

Honorary mentions:

Romelu Lukaku
Jack Butland
Chris Smalling

Who else should be making out list of 2015's best Premier League performers?
