Football News

The first episode of RAW in 2016 will kick the year off with a bang as there has already been a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on the show.

Current champion Roman Reigns has well and truly earned the contempt of Mr McMahon in recent weeks, and that has led to one strange night tonight.

Back with a bang

In a move straight out of the attitude era, we saw Mr McMahon confront a police officer who was supposed to be there to arrest Roman Reigns.

McMahon would however be the one who left the arena in handcuffs after the police arrested him for assaulting a police officer.

McMahon would return following the main event between John Cena and Alberto Del Rio and he had one big announcement to share.

He repeated his previous statement that Reigns should be wondering how long he will be Champion for, then he made his big reveal.

Confirming that Reigns will be defending his title against Sheamus next week gives the fans a great way to start 2016.

However it gets more interesting by the fact that McMahon himself will be the special guest referee.

McMahon has become heavily involved in the current storyline with Reigns and it is a nostalgic taste of the storyline we all loved between McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Where next?

McMahon being so involved with a storyline is a show of how desperate they may be for TV ratings heading into WrestleMania season.

The only question remaining is how long will McMahon remain on TV before he eventually drops off to leave the story lines to the superstars once again.
