Why Royal Rumble 2016 could work wonders for WWE

It is known for being one of the biggest pay-per-view events WWE has to offer, and the Royal Rumble of 2016 could perhaps be the most important yet for the company.

After a somewhat lacklustre 2015, the WWE Universe will be expecting a lot more from the business' portrayal of the vast number of talented superstars on the main roster.

What better way to begin a fresh start than by promoting what is seen by many as the warm-up to WrestleMania, which this year is set to be one of the biggest WWE events ever.

Roman Reigns

All eyes are currently on Roman Reigns whilst the WWE Universe reluctantly comes to terms with the absence of many of its leading stars such as Randy Orton and Seth Rollins.

Having won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title from Sheamus, Reigns is now in a position which many fans have wanted to see for a long time.

This could well mean that Reigns will be received a lot better than during last year's Royal Rumble, where it seemed very few fans in attendance supported the 30-year-old following his Royal Rumble match win.

There are several things WWE should be taking into account ahead of this event which takes place on January 24 next year, as any mistakes made could well set the company up for yet more criticism to begin 2016 with.

Right ideas

Possibly one of the easiest and most understandable ideas would be to make the pay-per-view event into a four-hour show.

WWE tried out this tactic with SummerSlam earlier this year and, given the way matches are often crammed into the night for this event because of the duration of the main match, it would make a lot of sense to include and extra hour.

Pushing this idea ahead of what is set to be the biggest WrestleMania yet could well work out for both the company as well as the talented wrestlers WWE has under its wing.

The Royal Rumble in 2016 should also be seen as the perfect opportunity to give a much-needed push to those titles WWE has forgotten about in recent times.

A lengthy and worthwhile Diva's Title match, as well as a memorable change of hands for the Tag Team Title, could well be the right way to go, as so many members of the WWE Universe will be tuning into watch this highly-anticipated event.

Also, something which should never be ruled out with regard to the Royal Rumble is the possibility of a surprise appearance.

Whether this comes in the form of a shock entrant for the Rumble match itself, or an ex-WWE legend appearing to do a promo on the night, followers of WWE will no doubt be in for several surprises come January 24, 2016.
