Jamie Vardy has been an integral part of Leicester City’s drive to the upper echelons of the Premier League table, that’s a fact that cannot be denied.
The former non-league striker has been a revelation in English football this year - he’s already scored 15 times and looks good value to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League’s coveted Golden Boot award.

Something that may have escaped the attentions of those signing the folk hero’s praises however is the fact that he is actually a mere mortal.
Difficult to believe given his meteoric rise to stardom, but nonetheless true.
Need evidence? Look no further than Leicester’s ongoing fixture against Bournemouth. The Englishman squandered a chance from six yards out that he any sensible punter would have put their wife and kids on him scoring. (You can see the video below).
The out-rushing Bournemouth goalkeeper, Artur Boruc, almost certainly had a hand in putting Vardy off the effort, which ended up crashing into the post, but, all the same, the 27-year-old will be lucky if he gets another chance as easy as that one to take his tally to 16 for the season.

Could it be that Vardy’s incredible, record-breaking form is beginning to come to an end?
There’s the obvious theory that his explosive impression was just a flash in the pan, but that might be a tad harsh on the man himself given that he and teammate Riyad Mahrez have propelled Leicester to the summit of the Premier League table in time for Christmas.
