With Jose Mourinho out of the picture, it seemed nothing would stand in Eden Hazard's way of returning to his very best form for Chelsea in the new year.

In a disastrous season for the Blues, no one player has fallen further from his high standing than the Belgium international. Fresh from winning both the PFA and the FWA awards last season, Hazard looks a shadow of his former self and things are only getting worse in 2016.

Starting in his favoured left-sided position in Sunday's away tie against Crystal Palace, Guus Hiddink had given Hazard every chance to grab his first Premier League goal of the season.

But 15 minutes later, the 24-year-old's day was over as he was seen walking down the tunnel with a limp in his stride. He suffered what looked to be a painful hip injury and was brought off for Pedro.
