What can WWE fans expect for 2016?

Well, 2015 was a landmark year for WWE. It saw the rise in prominence of former Shield members Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

We saw the return of Evolution, the 25th anniversary of Undertakers' debut, the debut of Kevin Owens, the debut of Sting, the return of the Dudley Boys, the emergence of the New Day and the list continues.

However, there were many negatives to WWE's 2015 too.

Randy Orton consistently being plagued with injuries was one such disappointment. Sting, Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins all suffered career-threatening injuries, too.

Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Rusev and The Miz languish in booking hell, whilst we also saw the culling of talent in the beginning of the year that saw the departure of JTG.

What next?

So, what does 2016 hold for the WWE and its many fans?

Undoubtedly, 2016 shall be a big year for certain Superstars. Roman Reigns heads into 2016 carrying the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and shall most likely hold it for the foreseeable future.

He will have a great year, and, should he stay injury free, could presumably see two or three title reigns.

Finn Balor, the mysterious Irish NXT champion is all set for a stellar WWE year. Presumably, the Irishman will have called up to the main roster within 2016 and then the fireworks shall begin.

Balor, who wrestles with a high octane and explosive style, will surely make the WWE far more interesting with his unique character. Look to see Balor raise a mid-tier title before mid-2016, and perhaps challenge for the main strap by the end of year.

Samoa Joe is another Superstar who is set to shake things up. Following his devastating debut in NXT the fans have eagerly awaited his arrival on the main roster. Given the amount of injuries that have hurt the WWE's roster, expect to see Samoa Joe debuting early in 2016 and going for most of the year undefeated.

Finally, we would be wrong to not mention the impending impact of a Brock Lesnar return, The Rock coming to Wrestlemania 32, a Seth Rollins return, a Sting Return, a potential Lucha Dragons tag title run and finally, the inevitably grand return of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32.

It seems that 2016 will see a return to fine form for the WWE.
