Barcelona have confirmed that summer signing Arda Turan will wear the number seven shirt for the club while Aleix Vidal has been handed the number 22 shirt.

Both players, of course, have had to watch on from the sidelines during the opening half of the season, but will now be desperate to prove their credentials as the club's transfer ban has expired.

In fact, both stars could make their debuts against Espanyol in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening at the Camp Nou.

Turan, a summer signing from rivals Atletico Madrid, is recognised as one of the most established forward players in La Liga, so should offer a great deal to the cause for Luis Enrique's side.

Vidal, on the other hand, enjoyed a fine season for Sevilla last term and could now play an important role over the coming months.

Barca boost

Ultimately, then, both stars should hand Enrique's side a major boost in their pursuit of sustained success. 2015 represented a phenomenal year for the Catalans, who secured as many as five major trophies.

Barcelona are once again the favourites to secure Champions League silverware while they're in a strong position in La Liga heading into the second half of the season.

Fans will certainly be excited by the prospect of Turan linking up with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Here's a video showing exactly what Turan can do:
