Several new additions have been added to the WWE's 30-man Royal Rumble event taking place at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 24.

Prior to this week's Raw, the WWE had only announced two entrants to the Royal Rumble, The Big Show, who announced his entry on Raw before the end of last year, and Curtis Axel, who's participation was announced on WWE.com.

Now eight more participants were announced across this week's episode of Raw. These include all the members of The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman, and Erick Rowan), Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

Jericho and Reigns are the biggest editions from this list for different reasons. Reigns was added by Vince McMahon as he will now defend his championship in the match, instead of the winner going on to face him at WrestleMania.

This is the first time that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be defended in the 30-man Royal Rumble event. Reigns could also become the first superstar since Stone Cold Steve Austin in 1998 to win back-to-back Royal Rumbles.

Jericho was announced as an entrant last night when he interrupted The New Day and said he has come back to save the WWE by entering himself into the Royal Rumble to have a chance to main event at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The reaction to Jericho's return last night wasn't exactly a lively one. The crowd was pretty much quiet when he said he was back to save the WWE. He relied a lot on his catchphrases to get the crowd on his side, rather than original content. Then the 'rooty tooty booty' chant came...

Hopefully, the rest of Jericho's time back in the WWE is like this. He is so charismatic, we know he can be better than what we saw this past week.

It looks like he could be involved in a storyline with The New Day, which is good. They should be able to bounce off each other better in the future than what they did last night, as The New Day have been one of the most entertaining tag teams in the last year.
