Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has insisted that Real Madrid have made a good decision by appointing Zinedine Zidane as their new manager.

Taking to Twitter, the Germany international, who starred at the Bernabeu between 2010 and 2013, has wished Zidane all the best, claiming that he's one of the 'greatest football players of all time'.

Zidane, of course, replaced Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid boss on Monday evening following an inconsistent period for the Spanish club.

After failing to secure all three points against Gary Neville's Valencia this past weekend, Real currently sit in third place in La Liga - four points behind table-toppers Atletico Madrid.

Zidane, then, has a huge task on his hands as he goes in search of securing silverware this season. But he has the backing of Ozil, who appears to be pleased with the decision.

One of the greatest

"A good decision! 😉👍 One of the greatest football players of all time is Real Madrid head coach now! ☺ All the best to Zizou!✊ #Zidane."

Class of Ozil

Real Madrid and Ozil have a history, of course, but the technically gifted star now has other concerns. Currently, he's acting as the Gunners' talisman in their pursuit of claiming the Premier League title.

Ultimately, Ozil has been one of the standout players of the campaign so far and has the credentials to lead the north London outfit to the title.

Racking up a number of assists, there's no reason why Ozil won't go from strength-to-strength during the second half of the campaign.

Will Ozil lead Arsenal to the title? Have your say below!
