What's your verdict? Did Joe Allen really mean his no-look pass assist against Stoke City this evening?

Well, despite many, including Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, claiming the pass was a miss hit, Liverpool fans have been quick to suggest that Allen really did know what he was doing...

Allen has been the subject of criticism on numerous occasions throughout the course of the campaign, but the Liverpool support certainly stuck by him on this occasion.

Fans of the club even praised the Welsh midfielder for his performance during the Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg clash.

In fact, Allen almost won Liverpool a penalty just after the hour mark when he was brought down in the box by Glenn Whelan, but his appeal was dismissed by referee Anthony Taylor.

But it was his assist that dominated Twitter this evening. After some fine play from England international Adam Lallana down the right wing, Allen appeared to miss hit a shot which fell to the feet of Jordon Ibe who found the back of the net in style.

Perhaps, though, it really wasn't a miss hit. In fact, there were even a couple of brilliant digs at Mesut Ozil. Here's how the Liverpool faithful reacted to the 'assist'...
