Man United believe Giggs can tempt Bale to Old Trafford

It may be a period of uncertainty for Manchester United, but there’s a shining beacon in the form of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Long linked with Old Trafford, apparently the Welsh star is more ready to return to the Premier League in the wake of Rafa Benitez’s sacking - and United have a plan to get him on board. We’ll dismiss the Mail’s talk of a £75m bid being made this month, as we can’t really see it happening. They also say though, and this we will endorse, that United believe Ryan Giggs could be a key figure in attracting Bale to England. The Welshman is next in line to replace Louis van Gaal. Meanwhile, Bild lead this morning with a rumour concerning Matteo Darmian. The German paper says the Italian is unhappy at Old Trafford and eyeing a move to Bayern Munich. Watch this space.
