It’s not uncommon for foreign newspapers to get excited in the transfer window, so it should come as no surprise that Liverpool are being linked with Mario Gotze. Using the Jurgen Klopp connection to their advantage, German publication Bild say that the Reds are plotting a £37m swoop for the World Cup hero, with change very much on the agenda at Bayern Munich. Pep Guardiola will be leaving and some star names could follow him out the door. Gotze’s contract is up in 2017. Meanwhile, Klopp has hit back at Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce for suggesting that his style of play has caused the current injury crisis at Anfield. Allardyce hinted that Klopp was to blame, but Klopp was having none of it.
