The stars of NXT were at Full Sail University this week to tape four episodes of NXT, with the fourth and final episode airing on February 3.

At the Royal Rumble weekend, they will be taping more episodes of NXT which will take us through to the end of February as the build towards NXT TakeOver: Dallas continued. New contenders continue to emerge in the hope of impressing over the next few months with all eyes on the arrivals of the potential NJPW arrivals.

For those unfamiliar with the NXT format, they don’t hold weekly episodes as the WWE does with Monday Night Raw and Thursday Night SmackDown. Instead, they tape around three or four episodes in one evening before rolling them out on a weekly basis. If you wish to avoid the spoilers for the episode airing on February 3, please turn back now.

In regards to the previously taped episodes, if you are up to date with what happened in the previously taped episodes, you will know that on January 22 Bayley will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Carmella

On the same night where more episodes will be taped, Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe will battle it out to be crowned the number one contender to Finn Balor’s NXT Championship.

In the opening match of the night, The Vaudevillians picked up a win over The Hype Bros, who have struggled to gain any momentum on NXT in recent times.

Carmella kept up her impressive performance and kept the momentum going heading into his enormous opportunity on January 22, picking up a win over Emma with a roll-up.

After her victory we finally got our first glimpse of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, the duo picked up a win in a squash match against two enhancement talents. You have to think now that they won’t be receiving the titles anytime soon and are slowly bracing themselves for a main roster call-up.

In the penultimate match of the whole tapings, Asuka continued to rack up the wins after remaining undefeated in 2015.

This time, she locked in the Asuka Lock to defeat Santana Garrett – a former Shine Champion, who went by the name Brittany when she was a part of Impact Wrestling.

Non-title action in the main event as Finn Balor took on Apollo Crews after Crews called the champion out on the second episode that was taped. The match is reportedly a fantastic main event between the two massive stars but it was the champion who picked up the win, Balor hit the Bloody Sunday DDT for the victory.

All attention will now be on January 22 to see what will happen at the tapings, plus we find out who Balor's next challenger will be.
