Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed that his future at the club is up in the air.

As reported by, the Germany international, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days, has insisted that he will talk to incoming coach Carlo Ancelotti about his future at the Bavarians.

Gotze, of course, has endured a tricky time under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, failing to establish himself as a first-team regular.

Unsurprisingly, then, the technically gifted star has been linked with a move to Merseyside, where he would be reunited with former manager Jurgen Klopp.

But it's far from certain as to whether Gotze will seek pastures new at the end of the season.

Gotze speaks out

"I have a contract until 2017, but what the new coach thinks about me is very important," Gotze told SportBild during Bayern's training camp in Qatar.

"The decisive factor is what the coach is planning so we have to see how it will go on.

"During my injury time I haven't thought much about that [the future], but as I said, it's all up in the air.

"It depends on the club's and the new coach's plans."

Brilliant Gotze

If Gotze really does become available in the summer, then Klopp has to make his move. Liverpool have lost the likes of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard over the last couple of years, so the coup of Gotze really would change the dynamic of the dressing room.

He's the star player Liverpool crave and could act as the club's talisman. Ancelotti will have the final say, of course, but it looks set to be an interesting summer for all involved. Klopp has to act ahead of the 2016/17 season.
