Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to bring Watford striker Odion Ighalo to the club this summer.

This has been reported by the Mirror, who claim that the Gunners chief is looking at Ighalo as a cheaper alternative to Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Ighalo, of course, has enjoyed a wonderful season at Vicarage Road and is currently recognised as one of the leading strikers in the Premier League. 

In fact, with 14 league goals, Ighalo, who recently confessed it would be a dream to play for Manchester United, is well in the running to secure the golden boot award this season. 

Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in the attacker, but it appears that any deal to sign the Watford man will have to wait until the summer.

Arsenal in attack 

Gunners boss Wenger may well have to rely on Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott to score the goals to fire the club to the Premier League title.

Currently sitting at the summit of the division, Arsenal are in a strong position, but will be well aware that they can't rest on their laurels over the coming weeks and months.
