Barcelona linked with incredible £50m bid for Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal fans are still talking about that 2013/14 season when Aaron Ramsey used the first half of it to announce himself as one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe.

He couldn't stop scoring and only a serious thigh injury stopped him from winning what would have surely been a PFA Player of the Year award. However, that version of Ramsey appears to be a thing of the past.

The Ramsey of today seems to be a bit more wasteful in front of goal and is more regularly spotted begrudgingly making his way onto Arsenal's right wing then his preferred No.10 role. But despite his lack of good form so far this season, Barcelona have supposedly been very impressed.

John Richardson of the Sunday Express is usually known for his insight into the country's more northerly clubs, but, just like magic, someone from the Nou Camp has been in touch to let him know they want Arsenal's midfield odd-man-out.

His report claims the La Liga outfit would be willing to pay up to £50million to sign the Welshman, which is a staggering amount of money for a club supposedly in the midst of a mini financial crisis.

A report late last year claimed club officials were struggling to balance to books and were looking more likely to sell one of their top stars than buy another. It is the main problem that makes this transfer story rather unbelievable and Arsenal fans aren't buying it.

Many have taken to Twitter to say they don't believe it while others have urged Arsene Wenger to reject the £50m if Barcelona do actually come calling.
