Football News

Many people know the WWE is one of the toughest places to work, as superstars put their bodies on the line every single time they step foot in the ring.

We've seen in recent times how this has affected the company, as several wrestlers are now sidelined due to injury. These include Randy Orton, Nikki Bella, Daniel Bryan, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, Seth Rollins, and the most recent, John Cena.

Minor injuries still occur as well, and Sheamus is the latest name to pick up a slight knock.

According to the WWE's YouTube, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion required stitches in his head last night, as it was busted open during his match against Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose (around the two minute mark in the first video below).

This did not stop The Celtic Warrior appearing in the main event on Raw later on in the night, which was Vince McMahon's One vs All match for Roman Reigns. During the match, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE programming for the first time since Hell in a Cell to cause havoc, and Sheamus even clashed with him.

WWE provided great visuals of the Irishman having his stitches sewn into his forehead on their YouTube channel and Instagram, but the video isn't for the faint-hearted or the squeamish.

It is highly unlikely that this injury will keep Sheamus out of action, if for any time at all, and he will still be expected to compete in the Royal Rumble alongside his League of Nations teammates later this month for a chance to regain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
